Oh No, not again

At 7.30 this morning DB told me he had the dreaded palps. He had been told by the hospital he should contact his GP which he has done. The GP had doubled his dose of medication and is ringing  back later.........I am so fed up I could scream. I cannot settle to do anything......

All laundry sorted yesterday, dried folded and put away, non of it needed ironing. Mince and tatties went down well for supper as did the crumble.

Frittata tonight......

GP rang back, had to take DB for an ECG, which showed the fibrillation quite clearly. He has upped DB.s medication and is trying to get to speak to his Consultant and get him put back onto the medication he was on before. He was fine until they started mucking about.......waiting for a call back to see what the Dr said. nowing them it could be this time next week!!

We were forecast sun.....

Its very dull and there is evidence that there has been some rain.

Coloured wash in, it will go in the dryer, cannot do with wet washing hanging around.

So visit to the PO this morning to see if this weeks TV Choice has landed, I also need to draw cash for the cleaner and laddie who cuts the grass for us. Doubt if we will need grass cutting after the end of October.

Sunday evening my neighbour across the road managed to set fire to a tray, she put it on the stove not realising that one of the plates was still on. Her direct next door neighbour heard her alarm going off and went round. I saw the front door open when I went to close the curtains, so went over to see what the problem was, found said neighbour using a fan to push the smoke out of her bedroom, all doors and windows open. Went over to make sure she was ok.

DB will not being gardening today, he started cutting back the lavender yesterday, it was starting to block the path.

Supper tonight will be mince and mash with cabbage and carrots, there is enough of the apple and black berry crumble for dessert.

Wash day

Woo hoo my cleaner is back. Its Monday again, not my favourite day of the week. Medication taken.

I have washed the towels, they are on the line, not much of a breeze the wind has calmed down since yesterday.

The pork was well cooked, I need to put it on the slicer and pack away what we are not eating for supper tonight. The freezer is a bit fuller than it was this time last week.

DB has graduated to 3/4 of an hour in the garden, he will be back to his hour in a couple of weeks. He has started to cut back the lavender which was threatening to cover the path to the front door.

I am looking at my next project for my great grandchildren, a story pillow for them both at Christmas, Blue for Niblet and purple for Little Miss. i have the fabric, just have to do the embroidery and put them together.

I was having a mini fit last week, when I came to do the ironing I could not find the iron, eventually I found it on a shelf in the book case, I had hung an embroidery hoop over it........will have to move stuff about so I can see it.

Sun is just breaking through, it not warm outside, fleece jacket on to hang the laundry out!!

Still windy

According to the forecast yesterday, the wind was to die down, its still giving it some welly out there.

We are getting periodic burst of sun, but thats it. The heating came on again this morning, but the temperature has risen in the house so its gone off for now.

DB is clearing out waste baskets etc, the cleaner is back tomorrow so he has to do his bit tidying his cabinet at the side of the bed and taking out the recyling.

I have a joint of pork to cook for supper tonight, I will slice the remains tomorrow and freeze it. Plant to do an apple and blackberry crumble for dessert, there is some custard left that needs finishing off.

No real plans for the day......DB may get his half hour in the garden depends on how cold it is outside.

Saturday, September 26, 2020

Windy again

The wind increased yesterday and is still blowing well this morning. We have had some sun, but it has clouded over now.

Yet another bad night, well after 2am before I dropped off, DB brought my breakfast in bed, as I was still asleep when he got up, so a late start.

I sliced  and froze part of the loaf I made, then went over to my neighbour and sliced a loaf for her, she can no longer use her right hand to slice bread. A small job soon done. I stayed and had a chat with her son who was visiting.

DB did his half hour in the garden and then came in, I will extend it to 3/4 of an hour from Monday, see how he goes.

I did finish the ironing yesterday and put it away, I had to hunt for the iron, could not remember where I had put it last time I used it. I need to sort out the border for the embroidery I did, keep putting it off.

Supper tonight, all day breakfast, grilled gammon, fried eggs, tomato and fried bread. no dessert, will make a crumble tomorrow when I cook the pork.

Almost the weekend

Its a sunny morning, but the wind is something else. It was so cold yesterday I put the heating on for a while and it came on this morning, have just turned it off until after supper.

Pillowcases and sheet ironed, had to leave the duvet cover till after lunch, my back told me I had been on my feet long enough, so sit down, take my pill and have a cup of tea!!

DB has been in the garden for his half hour stint, clearing up and putting the garden to bed for the winter. We will soon be digging up and splitting the plants so the weed proof membrane and stones can go down.. I need to mark the plants I am wanting to keep. I can see us having to beg, borrow or steal some large pots. I have a hydrangea I have raised from a cutting, I will overwinter it in the house before potting it on, hopefully it will grow into a nice plant. I may not bring the geraniums in this winter, I raised them from cuttings from the plants I over wintered last back end. They have not been as good as previous years, so may elect for new stock for the big pots. One of the hosta's by the back door is not doing too well either. Its 5 years since I started them off. They were a freebie from Parkers in 2013. I think they could do with getting the stones and a couple of inches of compost taking off and giving a good feed. I will wait till they die back before I scrape the gravel off.

The meat balls in tomato sauce were delicious, I blitzed the sauce with the Bamix to make it nice and smooth. I have enough sauce left for another meal.

Tonight is fish and chips, there is enough jelly left for dessert.

Another day, another dollar!!!

No idea what happened to the type in my two previous entries......

Its a sunny morning but the temperature has dropped into single figures, heating alert!!

No repercussions from yesterdays trip into town. I just might risk a trip to Aldi in a couple of weeks....watch this space.

DB of out into the garden. I stripped down the unit in the hall and cleaned it, dusted the things  that are on it, I really should look at getting rid of some of the it.

The wall paper DB chose for the bedroom came yesterday, its going back, the pattern is too in your face and will bring the walls in, so need to sort it. They will exchange it for me. I have to redo the parcel and get it up to the Post Office. I will have to pay of course.

Anti b's seem to be doing their job thankfully, have to take them for 5 days, just over 3 months since the previous lot.

Spaghetti and meat balls in tomato sauce for supper tonight, its ages since we had meatballs, there is real nursery dessert, jelly and custard!!

Update

DN has picked 4lbs Braeburn apples and a pound of pears from out two little fruit trees in the garden, some od the apples are very big, Might be peeling them and freezing against crumbles etc over the winter. The pears are conference and once they have fully ripened they will be eaten.

I ventured into town

Just to Sainsbury, my daughter met me there with Little Miss. The shop was quiet, very few people in, so I got what I wanted and was back home by 9.45am. Wednesday morning seems to be the time to go.

We woke up to rain, driving into thown it was hissing down, but by the time I came to drive home it had more or less stopped.

No plans for the rest of the day, another bad night last night, I hopefully a better night tonight, I am back on anti b's again, twice a day at least 2 hours after having milk.......so 10 am and 10 pm today.

I did manage to pick up toilet paper, a bag of 16 rolls which will last quite a while, so a crisis averted and I can take toilet rolls off my next order. We do not use much sugar, so I can also cancel the sugar I  had on the order. I went a bit mad and bought a can of ready made custard.....I usually make my own, but cans do come in sueful from time to time.

Frittata for supper tonight, probably just herbs, DB wants cheese at lunch time. I will do raspberries in jelly for a dessert.

Tuesday, September 22, 2020

Indian Summer?

Not quite, I believe an Indian summer is usually in October , However its a bright sunny morning, cool, but it does warm up later.

Coloureds in the washer, they should dry. I have the bed linen to iron. Have cleaned the bathroom and toilet apart from the floor which I will do when I  clean the kitchen.

Grocery delivery has filled the cupboards a bit, I have to decide if I am going to take my life in my hands and go into Sainsbury tomorrow. I have a feeling that there is panic buying going on. I have to admit I am not too happy at the thoughts of another clamp down. However I knew it was going to come when I saw the pictures of people on the beach and crowds, not socially distancing, outside pubs. Parts of Leicester are still causing problems. One of our councillors is a spokesman for the Asian community, he is having big problems getting people to conform. They believe that Karma comes when it comes and therefore seem to think they are safe continuing to see family etc. A lot of the males appear to think they are absolved from getting the virus........

DB is moving pots and potting up plants, he is moving them under the eves of the house, so it will be a case of watering when they need it. The pool needs emptying and the fountain cleaning and putting away for the winter. He does a bit every day. He is continuing to pick tomato's. You can so taste the difference to tomato's bought from the supermarket.

Supper tonight is liver and sausage with veg. We are still only having dessert occasionally. I might do raspberries in jelly later.

I hate Mondays

Wasn't there a song about Mondays? Its the day of the week I have to take my osteoporosis medication, I always feel ill  after it, takes me a couple of days to recover. I did not sleep well last night which does not help.

Bed stripped and in the washer, DB reported it was very misty this morning, by the time I got my head round things the sun was out and the mist cleared.

My cleaner is back next week, I am very tempted to just let things slide, but I won't. Once I have remade the bed I will dust and put the G Tec over the carpet.

I have a delivery of groceries coming this afternoon, the emergency shelf in the back bedroom cupboard is empty, I moved what was left into the kitchen cupboard, which looks a bit better than it did. There were pictures in the paper of empty shelves in supermarkets, I can see problems with supply again.

Supper tonight will be gammon salad. I will do a couple of small baked potato's with it.

Here's the sun...ooppsss its gone

Yesterday was a quiet day, The container I thought had liver in it was in fact casseroled beef, I emptied some beans into it to put up the protein. The crumble was delicious, there is enough for tonight.

I need to slice the gammon joint, enough for supper tonight and tomorrow and the rest in the freezer for sandwiches. So just veg needed to do for tonight.

DB is going out to the garden for half an hour, then we will do the freezer and cupboard auduits, so I can see what I need to get to bring stocks up. According to the papers, people are starting to buy up large amounts of food again, so some stocking up is needed. Thankfully I can use either Sainsbury and Morrison for deliveries. I am planning on going to Sainsbury to use the voucher I was given for my birthday, it will help towards building up the cupboards again.

Tomorrow is bed change day........and DB has to speak to the Dr to gat another scripts for his new medication, fingers crossed it seems to be working and no side effects. I will be glad to see my cleaner back a week tomorrow.

Calm before the storm???

A lovely day, sunny but there is a breeze. It was very cold overnight, so the heating came on briefly this morning.

My store cupboards are looking sadly empty, I need to do both a cupboard and freezer audit and then start ordering stuff up. I have a Morrison order coming on Monday, I went in to order a cauliflower, not available....... at the last count my order was almost £70 not quite the highest but getting that way.

Gammon joint cooked, we will have some for supper tomorrow night. I have been falling behind with labelling stuff in the freezer, took out what I thought was liver, it was beef casserole!! I decided to make an apple and blackberry crumble, just enough for tonight and tomorrow. I also put broth mix into the PKP with the gammon liquor and some baby tomato's to make soup, it will make possibly 3 days soup for lunch.

No plans for the rest of the day, tomorrow we are going to do an audit of the store cupboards and freezer to see what I actually have got, then I can do a menu list for the beginning of October and start to build up again.

My goodness the nights are drawing in fast, the autumn equinox is on Tuesday and then we put the clocks back on 28th. We will soon have to be drawing the curtains at 4pm or earlier, and we will have to think about putting the winter duvet on the bed and the heating on. I hate the winter.........like to see the snow but hate to go out in it.

The farmers locally are working to get the last of the crops in, the land ploughed and harrowed and winter crops planted.

There will be no harvest supper at the chapel this year, which is sad, I also doubt there will be an over 60's Christmas lunch either. Two events the village look forward to all year.

so supper tonight is beef and bean casserole with veg and blackberry and apple crumble.

Its Friday

Yesterday was a disaster from the point of the chiropodist.......we left via the post office, as I was not used to the way we used the sat nav, I should have known better!! We eventually found where we should be, parked and walked to the door. There were instructions as to how to get in which we followed......nothing, someone else came along and got the door open so we went in, up in the lift, door to the unit locked. Eventually I went to the next door unit and they phoned the chiropodist, by this time it was almost 12.30, our appointment was for 12 noon. She was stuck in traffic........could we wait, no seats to wait on so I said not to bother we had another appointment and needed to go which we did. I was flabbergasted. If you make an appointment to see someone you surely you make sure you are there on time.

We went on to out next port of call, the garden centre, to our surprise the cafe was open, so we decided to treat ourselves to lunch, I had made tuna mayo sandwiches, so we had them for supper. We enjoyed a plate of sausage, egg and chips and a cup of tea in a cafe socially  distanced and they were doing good trade.

We got what we wanted from the garden centre and headed for home.

The rest of the day was quite peaceful we sat and read, DB had a wander up the garden and picked more tomato's.

We were both shattered, so only a brief read when we went to bed. For once I got 8 hours sleep.....wish it was like that every night!!

The evils of Ebay

I sold my Accuquilt cutter yesterday on Ebay. I looked at sending by the Ebay service £33, you must think I came up the river on the last banana boat!!! I decided to send it by courier, what a performance........weighed it, measured it, parceled it up. Fine, put details in to see which courier to use.... fine, then the fun started, all I wanted was to print the label so I could take it in to the post office. They wanted everything except my inside leg measurement........it took me 2 hours just to get a label printed for a parcel......I vowed I would not sell anything else through E Bay. They fleeced me by charging on the postage as well as the amount I sold the cutter for. Of course I will also have to pay paypal fees as  well.

We have a lunch time appointment with a new chiropodist and are then going, mask on face to the garden centre to get manure for the garden. I am packing up a drink and some sandwiches. The chiropdist is about 20 minutes away, I have to take that blessed parcel to the post office to get it picked up.

It looks like being another fine day, it was cooler yesterday.

I got a phone call to say the coffee morning was on, the marque was up so we sat under that, just 6 of us so that was fine.

Supper tonight will be grilled gammon with tomato, egg and fried bread.

Wednesday, September 16, 2020

Quiet day today

The sun is out, its pleasantly warm. I was going to make soup, but changed my mind, the freezer is quite full, its easier to store flat packages then tubs with soup in, so the lamb I cut off the bone will be portioned up one lot for sandwiches and the rest chopped up to go in the scotch broth.

No real plans for the day, expect DB will be out in the garden for his 15 minutes. I could do with putting the steamer on the kitchen, wet room and toilet floors. Tomorrow we have a busy day, we have an appointment with a new chiropodist at 12 noon and are then going on to the garden centre to get manure for the garden, its just 10 minutes from the chiropodist. So no cleaning tomorrow, have wiped the surfaces over in the kitchen and given the sink edge and taps their clean round with a toothbrush and a little vim. Its amazing now much crud gets under the edge of the sink where it overlaps the work surface.

Supper tonight smoked haddock with poached egg and bread and butter.

Tuesday, September 15, 2020

Shhhhh

The sun is out and its quite warm outside. DB has done his 15 minutes in the garden. I have dusted and put the Gtec over the carpet in the sitting room, prepped the pork casserole for supper, we are having Paprika pork for a change, with mash, cabbage and green beans from the garden. DB says there are a lot of tomato's to come, I chopped up two of the plum tomato's to put in the casserole.

I need to go up to the post office for the TV Choice and our Tuesday treat, a duo mars bar, half each.

I think the coffee morning will be off tomorrow, we are back to the rule of 6 again, will give B a ring and see.

Started on my library books, read the ones that were on my tablet so they have been returned. I do not know what we would have done without borrowbox, it has been a life saver for us over the past 6 months. We had just got books from the mobile library when the country closed down, so once we had read them it was back to re-read books we had or get books from the internet.

DD1 sent me this photograph of our great grandson snuggled under the quilt I made him. It is not allowed to go home, its stays at Papi and Nanny's house, he asks for great Nans 'blanket' when he has a sleep or goes to bed!! He is quite tired just now, he has completed his first week at pre-school, he finished top of the class and has a certificate to prove it......long may it last.

Never ending

Wash day is here again!! I did wash the bath towels yesterday after I cleaned the bathroom, it was sunny but quite a breeze so the dried quickly and smell gorgeous. Another load in now.

The sun is beating down, looks like its going to be hot again today. Forecast is for a very warm week.

DB announced yesterday that he had chest pains. I had read the leaflet with his new medication and knew it was a side effect, so paracetamol and codeine given he fell asleep in the chair, and the pain went off. No way was I going down the 999 route again.......

Yesterdays lamb was delicious, I need to cut the meat off the bone and make some Scotch broth, I put soup mix into water last night, ready to go in this morning.

The village is quiet, rarely see anyone except the lady who delivers from the chemist and the bin men on a Thursday.

Since Boris has announced the rule of 6, I doubt there will be a coffee morning, there were 13 of us at the last one. Its a shame because some of the older people do not see anyone else on a regular basis. We have not had a case in the village.

Right off to clean the bed room, DB will be out for about half an hour picking tomato's, I will be giving some away, we have a big bowl full on the kitchen table.

So tonight's supper will be cold lamb, tomato and celery salad and a jacket spud.

Sunday, September 13, 2020

Home again

Collected DB from hospital yesterday afternoon, he had a cup of tea and then went to bed for a couple of hours, he had little sleep Friday night. They have changed his medication and he has to go for assessment for the ablation. The consultant at Glenfield has a new new proceedure which cuts down the length of operating time.

Usual Sunday breakfast, so late getting up. My cleaner is away for 2 weeks, so I am going to have to do my own cleaning. Shower room & toilet this morning, bedroom tomorrow, will do the shower room and toilet floors when I have the steamer out to do the kitchen floor later in the week.

DB will have a walk up the garden and collect anything thats ripe. He can do his half hour tomorrow.

Lamb for tonights supper has been marinading since yesterday afternoon, will do roasties and veg with it. No dessert.

Saturday, September 12, 2020

Not Again

Yesterday ended with DB being carted off to hospital yet again with palpitations. No way could we get a Dr. so arranged an ambulance and he was taken to Glenfield.

He rang this morning and said he saw the Dr about 4.am and the palpitations went off shortly afterwards so they lasted 9 hours. He has been given 3 choices, 2 different tablets and an ablation. We have gone for one of the tablets and he is being assessed for an ablation. The ablation would mean his heart will rely entirely on his pacemaker. He is starting the medication today and hopes to come home this afternoon or early evening. I have to wait on a phone call.

I had a really bad night, just could not get off so was reading until around 4am, when I eventually dozed off.

Its a sunny morning and quite warm, so the heat did not kick in. Cooked the salmon for tonight, will have a light salad with it as DB will get a cooked lunch in hospital.

Cleaned down the surfaces in the kitchen, prior to doing the rest of the kitchen on Monday. only a small amount of washing so no point in doing that.

I guess, thanks to the new covoid instructions there will be no coffee mornings for a while. It does make me cross when I see people going about, especially youngsters in crowds, no thought for those of us who have been in isolation since early March. I had been thinking of a trip into Melton, no way now. I cannot put either of us at risk.

So supper tonight is salmon salad, DB can have a yogurt for dessert.

I had to smile last night, they checked DB's blood sugar and it was 11.... the top threshold is 10, he had a peppermint just before his palps started.........the ambulance people kept asking me if he was diabetic....

Friday, September 11, 2020

poets day

Yesterday was a brightish day, we did have a slight shower of rain but nothing to moan about. After DB had been in the garden we had a cup of tea and then pootled off to give the car a run. Our medication arrived during the afternoon, it was not due till Monday, I am glad it came I was down to my last but one dose of my blood pressure medication.

I had a message to say that someone wanted 2 of the dies for the Accuquilt, so have parceled them up ready to go, will take them to the PO once the cash hits my account. I have the actual machine on E bay, it has 2 watchers.......watch this space. It must be at least 3 years since I last used it. An expensive bit of kit to be just hanging about doing nothing. I will not get what its really worth, but something is better than it taking up space in the cupboard. I am hoping to sell the rest of the dies, have priced them just under what Amazon is charging and including postage.

The forecast is for cloudy sunshine...

DB is still being good about just doing his half hour in the garden, he picked a load of cherry tomato's yesterday, they are so sweet, love them with a bit of salt on. I need to take out some salmon for tomorrow nights supper, neither of us is keen on it hot, so will cook it with white wine and lemon and keep it in the fridge for supper with salad.

Had a better nights sleep although I was awake for an hour or so, thought my stomach was going to start off again, but it did not. I might have to start taking lansoprasol first thing.

Supper tonight is fish and chips, we ended up having liver and bacon casserole last night, we have stopped have dessert just now.

Thursday, September 10, 2020

Its Thursday

I see we now have the new blogger foisted on us. I hate it. Go to comments, all you get are comments that have been approved under the old system, no sign on any comments for approval. I do wish they would leave stuff alone when its working ok.

Sunny morning, not sure how warm it is, have not opened the door yet. I guess DB will be out in the garden shortly. I did not get to take the  car for a run yesterday will try today.

No plans for the day, I have an e book I want to finish reading then I can start on my library books, all 9 of them!!

A friends son who is a carpenter came round last night to look at a couple of jobs we need doing, so am now waiting for 2 estimates, one from the painter and one from him. Guess the savings are going to take a bit of a bashing over the next few months.

Going through some things left from the fairs I did a couple of years ago, I found a knitting bag I had made, my neighbour is a knitter so it was donated to her.

Not a good night woke at 3 am with acid reflux, took me ages to get back to sleep again.

No idea whats for supper tonight, will have a rake through the freezer see what I have got in there.

Grey skies

Again, DB told me this morning we were to have sun all day....wrong   its raining so todays laundry will be in the dryer.

I need to take the car for a run at some point to keep the battery topped up, might go after DB has his siesta this afternoon, will just do a circuit round the A52 and back.

Posted off another parcel at the post office, yesterdays should arrive today.

I still have ironing to do, must make the effort today, hate to see its lying around, as its in the sewing room with the door shut, I cannot see it...so it does not get done.

Sainsbury delivered yesterday, so we are stocked up for a bit, they had everything on the list which was good.

Chicken for supper tonight, will use the last of the cream cheese in the sauce and do it with pasta. Not sure about a dessert.

Tuesday, September 8, 2020

It looks like rain

Dirty black clouds hovering. DB says it is not forecast to rain....... I will wait and see. Line full of laundry out, have the bed linen from yesterday to iron........

Discovered this morning that the belt on my car does not need replacing it was done in 2018...phew, saved me a bunch of cash, just a normal service needed at the end of October.

Quick trip to the PO to post a parcel and get the TV mag for DB, also treated us to a sausage roll each for lunch. The chap at the shop sells hundreds of them a day, they are delicious.

I am 1 degree below par. I was in so much pain last night I took some medication, it always knocks me a bit.......I am trying not to take it during the day.......it does tend to make me a bit dopey.

Library van came yesterday, very neat, returning books in a crate on the step, new books in a bag with our name on, DB got 8, there were 9 in my bag!! Will last us a bit.

Sainsbury order coming this afternoon, I have some stuff for my neighbour, so will take it over to her once we have packed ours away. They emailed this morning, no substitutions for a change.

Lunch will be a hot sausage roll with tomato and celery. Supper tonight is bacon frittata and salad, will do some potato salad to go with it.

Monday, September 7, 2020

Wash day again

Bed stripped and in the washer, DB says it will rain later........if so it will go in the dryer.

I have been trying to enter my meter readings on line, not been able to for the last 3 weeks, if I cannot do it this morning will be giving them a ring..........

I have been looking at the embroidery I did the other day, have decided that it needs some fancy stitching round the edge, I need to have an in depth look at my sewing machine and find a suitable pattern, it will mean a few sew outs. I will then have to see about getting it framed.

According to DB and the papers we are due a mini heatwave.....we might get the tomato's ripened at last, we also need to pick green beans, they were slow getting going but are growing fast.

Yesterday I used some of the fallen apples and some rhubarb for a crumble, I made too much crumble mix, so its in a container in the fridge, I can use it up for another one.

Cannot remember whats for supper tonight...... pot luck I think.

Sunday, September 6, 2020

A bright morning

but DB tells me rain is forecast later.....it was very cold in the night, the heating switched on first thing.

No plans for the day, we have gathered up our library books to return tomorrow, we both have had books booked out to us by the library which we have to collect from the van when it comes. So new reading matter. The last time the van came was the first Monday in March, so 5 months ago.

DB might go for a short wander up the garden a bit later, we were late getting up, as I was late waking.

Supper tonight pork steaks with roast spuds and veg, I have a couple of fallen apples in the fridge so will use some of the rhubarb from the freezer with the apple and make a crumble for dessert.

Saturday, September 5, 2020

Its the weekend

No different to a weekday here, more of the same.

Its a sunny morning but there is that chill of autumn in the air, pulled the quilt up over the duvet last night I was cold.

DB is now spending 30 minutes twice a day in the garden, he was out pruning the raspberries yesterday, he found one or two ripe ones which we had on our cereal this morning.

I spent part of yesterday on the embroidery machine, for once she behaved perfectly, one little thread problem, just a couple of secs to sort out. Now I need to see about getting it framed. Our local framer is not working at the moment so I may have to go else where.

All day breakfast for supper tonight, using our own tomato's, the last of the raspberry jelly for dessert.

Friday, September 4, 2020

THIF

I have had enough of this week, the weather is so unpredictable and its really cold for September.

We did not do much yesterday and couple pf half hours in the garden and DB has been out this morning. I have been watching my embroidery machine doing a design.

We had blue sky first thing but it has now clouded over and rather chilly. DB has just gone for his siesta.

Life is very boring and predictable just now, I am still not really happy going out apart from locally. There are several jobs I could do with doing in the town......I need to screw up the courage. At least the library an is coming back, starts next Monday.

Its friday so fish and chips with raspberry jelly for dessert for supper.

Thursday, September 3, 2020

No its not

Its raining........

Yesterday we walked round to the little chapel for the coffee morning, the sun was out so it was pleasant sitting in the garden at the back of the chapel. Social distancing was in order, there were 13 of us eventually, so good to see people and chat.

After lunch I took the car to the Harby garage to get the new sensor fitted, when I got back I went over to see my neighbour, she is feeling very isolated and afraid to go out. I go over as often as I can, but I think she is getting closer to wanting a smaller place. We will miss her when she does go.

No gardening today as its raining, I went down and took the scripts into the surgery, and got DB some more cough stuff.

Summers back!!

or is it? Yesterday was a bright sunny day and it looks like today is going the same way.

Yesterday I went up to the next village to the PO. I also nipped in the garage there with the car as our garage was not answering the phone. I discovered the reason, the garage has been shut permanently. The chaps at the PO garage looked at the car, it is one of the sensors that needs replacing, so I have to take it in today to get it sorted.  We will miss part of the coffee morning as I have to take it in at 10 am and wait for it.

No gardening for DB today......he is having a rest day.

Smoked haddock with a poached egg for supper tonight, need to sort out something for dessert. might do a jelly.

Bank holiday gone

We are now into Tuesday, tried the garage, still no answer so will have to brave the  car up to Harby and see what they have to say. Also need to get DB some cash.

Load of coloured laundry in the machine including DB's boiler suit, he had left it in the shed, was a bit smelly. Its now out on the line.

The sun is blasting away and its fairly warm, must have been cold overnight the heating came on, the rads were just warm when I got up.

DB is going out to the garden shortly to do his 15 minutes, he has stopped doing his list of jobs each night, so he just does a bit and then comes in.

Quiche and salad for supper, might do a jacket spud, will see.....I have some peaches for dessert.

This little charmers first day at pre-school.
