Brrrrr

woke up cold in the night so pulled the quilt up, its still quite chilly this morning although the sun is out.

Shopping this morning, DB is staying at home, had notification that the iron is coming, so he will be here. I need to get the stand fitted, then I can work my way through the 4 lots of sheets, pillow cases and quilt covers that need ironing. I had got some pillow cases mixed up, managed to sort them out yesterday.

I fiinished the mat yesterday, not perfect, but its a sample, will know better with the next one.

I have lost the keyboard on my tablet, it disappeared last night and I do not seem to be able to get it back, will have to look and see if You Tube has a video how to sort it.

My niece is coming back from Oz for a visit its 5 years since they were last here. They are having a catch up at a social club on the outskirts of Leciester, as its in November I have booked to stay at the Ibis close to the road we use to get in and out of the city. So I will not have to drive home in the dark. It will be good to catch up with them.

Salmosn out of the freezer for tonight, I will cook it and let it go cold, having new potatoes and green beans with it tonight. We have finished the rasps in jelly, not sure what we will have for dessert.

As I thought

I paid for the busy day, yesterday was very painful despite taking medication, hey ho. I did manage to iron the curtains and pillow cases I had washed, need the steps in to rehang the curtains.

Having exhausted searching for someone to do the ironing, two people did not get back to me, I bit the bullet last night and ordered a steam press.......I can use it sitting down to press all the bed linen and also the few shirts etc I get from DB. It cost me what I would pay having S do the ironing for 6 months.

Yesterday started off cloudy, the sun broke through about 11am, at 8pm last night we had a cloud burst, the drain could hardly cope with the water. It is to be fine today. I hope so, I have a small load of white washing in the washer.

Supper tonight is a ding dinner, lasagne there is enough rasps in jelly for dessert.

 

What a busy bee

I was yesterday morning, after the bed change I cleaned the bedroom and tackled the kitchen window. Curtains and cafe curtain in the washer, scrubbed the window frame and cleaned the glass. Curtains etc in the washer, they dried quite quickly. The curtains were originally made for the two kitchen windows in the flat in Haddington, I used one pair in the kitchen, cut the other pair up and made a cafe curtain for the window, fabric came from the fabric warehouse in Leicester 23 years ago!!

By the time I had finished, I was shattered and I am paying for it this morning, back and right leg and hand very painful.

Dull morning, laod of coloureds in the washer this morning, if it rains they will go in the dryer. I have my lat set of sheets on the bed so need to find someone to do the sheets and quilr covers. I cintacted someone last week but they have not got back to me, will try and ring her this morning otherwise its the laundry.

No idea whats for supper will have to have a look at the menu sheet, we has frittata and salad last night.

Twas on a Monday morning

so the song goes and my bed is stripped and the sheets, duvet cover etc in the washer. DB tells me it is going to be a fine day.......its blooming cold at the moment.

Very quiet day yesterday, I did some sewing, have almost finished a Christmas mat, just have to finish the last segment and do the centre, then its done, I did make a boo boo on one bit, but it really does not matter as this is a sample. I am looking at doing a table runner using insul brite heat resistant wadding.

Need to sort out supper tonight, there is not enough chicken left for a salad, I will possibly do a bacon frittata instead. Rasps in jelly for dessert.

Brrrrrr

autumn cometh. After a cool morning yesterday, the sun did come out for most of the afternoon. It rained about 8.30pm, a quick shiwer and that was it. Quite cool this morning, DB is off up to the greenhouse, we are now freezing the small cherry tomatoes, using the bigger ones in sandwhiches and on salads.

We had our usual lazy start, veggies done for supper tonight, not sure what we will have for dessert yet, might do a raspberry jelly, use up some of the rasps in the freezer.

I spent yesterday afternoon sewing tissue cases, I found the old pattern I used to use, so have written the measurements down so I do not forget. I also want to do a few more card holders. After that I think I am going to tackle a zipper topped small bag.

Supper tonight.....roast chicken, carrots green beans and courgette, new potatoes, raspberry jelly for dessert.

This weeks makes, holders for 3 pais of scissors and cases, supposed to be for glasses, but can be used for various other things.

I found a bag with 4 packs of tissues in a drawer. Used scraps to make cases for them, idea for a coat pocket or bacg.

Sunny

rain forecast for later, we need it, I had to water the garden yesterday, plants were drooping.

I spent a while testing my machine now it has the feed dogs working properly, strange my post seems to have unlocked a spate of posts with the same problem, the same information I was given has not worked, so I outlined what happened to mine and told them to get the machine looked at by the dealer.

A load of coloured laundry dried on the line. I did iron 8 pillowcases yesterday, its a bed change this coming week and I will have 4 sets of bedding for ironing. I did contact a lady who lives in Bingham, she has not got back to me, so I will be contacting the laundry on Monday to collect 4 fitted sheets and 4 duvet covers, I will iron the pillow cases myself.

DB spent a while in the garden with T. He has started to sort out the shed, I have put quite a bit of stuff on gumtree, we will have to see what happens.

I need to work out and print a list of the things I have made for the sale. I think the garden centre one is off, I suspect that people found the stuff very expensive, there were a lot of people there but not much cash changing hands that I could see. I am waiting for the PTA of the local school to get back to me.

Supper tonight is ADB we need to finish off the chocolate mousse for dessert.

That was the day

that was......... late Wednesday night Tim from Woodseats Sewing Machines sent a message to say he would come and sort the machine out at home. I was so grateful, more about that later.

9.30 Morrison arrived with a grocery order. checked and put away.

10.15 Tim arrived, checked the machine and having ascertained that the feed dogs were not coming up as they should, started to take the machine bed to bits, checked everyting and it was all working except the feed dogs. He did mention that the machine was very clean, very little 'fluff' mmost of which was where I could not reach it. Eventually he decided to move the mechanics actually out of the arm to check the back of the feed dogs.......bingo........ the little bit that should spring back lifting the feed dogs wasn't doing so. Very gently eased back he tested it and it moved across as it should, a tiny spot of oil and a few tests and it was moving freely again. Tim admitted he had never seen that before......so one for the memory. Everything put back together. machine tested and away he went. 

I was so grateful that Tim made time to come down personally, he is the owner of Woodseats, Yes I have spent a lot of money with them, but Woodseats customer service is second to none. He spoke to DB, the reason I could not take the machine up as I have done previously, because DB would not have been able to take the journey there and back.

Years ago an engineer would come to the house and service a machine, but in these days of complicated computer machines it is something that is no longer done. Tim did say that he would take the machine back up if he could not sort it, thankfully he did.

So after the mornings excitement our next visitor was the physio to see DB, like the consultant she was amazed at the progress DB has made, she took him through some exercises to strengthen DB's muscles and off she went.

I was shattered.......

So today I have the washer on with a half load, its sunny so it should dry ok. Gardener due this afternoon, DB is going to get T to move the laege composter so I can photograph it and put it on Gumtree. There is also a jam pan to go and a couple of other small things.

Its fish and chip night so an easy supper, there is chocolate mousse for dessert.

We did get some raiin

 but it turned into a bright afternoon. DBs appointment went very well, he was discharged from the falls clinic. The Dr went over everything that had gone on since she last saw him and was very pleased with the progress he has made.

Later last evening I realised that there was a message on the phone from the machine techie. It turned out that the box for my machine had been sent to a lady whose machine was in for service. The service had been done and the box etc returned to her. She opened the box and took out the machine and then went off on a cruise, not due back until 2nd September........brilliant. However in the circumstances they are going to come to me!! I was so surprised.......I sent an email to T. to let him know I had the message, 8pm a message to say he would be here tomorrow morning.

Looks like rain

Very cloudy and grey skies.......supposed to be sunny.. what happened?

DB has an appointment at the falls clinic this morning, nothing to report, she will know that DB was hospitalised and that at last his Vertigo is under control.

Today is a ding dinner day, so no cooking tonight, I changed my mind last night and we had egg and chips, I had a couple of sponge puddings in the fridge so we had those.

Still nothing from my ironing lady, so I am going to look for someone else or failing that the sheet and quilt covers will go to the laundry, I will do the pillow cases myself.

Yesterday

was a warm day, a breeze kept it comfortable, we are in for more of the same today, although the wind has dropped quite a bit so it will feel warmer.

No cleaner yesterday so I blew the dust off and put the new cleaner over the carpet in the bedroom and also did the bathroom except for the floor.

Sorry to say the lady who does  my ironing did not turn up to collect the 3 loads that are waiting, so I am afraid I will have to either look for someone else or send them to the laundry to be ironed. I know she has problems but this has been going on for too long now. I can do the pillow cases and if I am forced the sheet but the quilt cover is just ttoo big. Two of us have a job putting it on the duvet.

DB continues his half hour in the garden, we have cherry tomatos coming out our ears, I will have to freeze some. The large tomatos ripen much slower, I can cope with those.

We ended up having pizza last night, I have to admit it was not good, very little taste to it, so I guess thats something else I will have to make, I know you can buy the bases.

Not sure whats for supper tonight forgot to look at the list on the fridge door.

Autumn is approaching

There is a coolness in the early morning and leaves are starting to fall, autumn is on its way. We are due a high of 23 today, but there is a cooling breeze, I have towels in the washer and they will dry on the line.

Did very little yesterday apart from cooking the supper, spent most of the day reading. No cleaner this week, so I am going to flick the duster round the bedroom and sitting room and shove the cleaner over the carpets.

DB is back on his half hour in the garden, we have a load of small tomatoes, as usual he has grown far too many, he has agreed just to grow ywo plants next year one large and one cherry tomato, so hopefully will not have tomatoes coming out my ears next autumn. He is also potting up runners from the strawberries for the new bed.

I need to get back to some sewing and redo the scissor holder with the slit in it, will unpick it, fabric can go, I can re use the wadding on something else.

No idea whats for supper tonight will have a look at the menu list when I go in the kitchen. I might do egg and chops with beans, we can have the left over beans on toast for lunch tomorrow.

 

Sunday

usual late start this morning, its going to be a hotis one according to the forecast. It was not too bad yesterday there was quite a breeze blowing so the laundry dried. Tomorrow is to be good as well, so towels will be in the washer after we have had a shower.

Veggies prepped for supper, no dessert to make, have a couple of fruit sundaes in the fridge, so we will have those.

DB is in the greenhouse, he is doing really well, fingers crossed it continues, I just have to contend with him switching off and not answering or completely forgetting what I just said. Yesterday he asked me about something, I told him where it was, right in front of him and he 'could not see it'. No ponit in me asking him to bring me something, I end up have to get up and get it, so might just as well do so in the first place. He is potting up strawberry runners for the new beds just now. 

So supper tonight is roast pork, I froze from the joint I cooked, new poatoes, carrts and green beans, with the raspberry sundaes for dessert.

Its going to be warm

the sun is shining, DB says its quite warm outside but its due to get warmer. I have a small load of laundry in, so should get it dry. I need to make myself a bib, three days on the trot I have managed to get food on my top, so three tee shirts in the wash. I rub a bit of washing up liquid into the stains, it gets them out.

Thursday night my new vaccum came so M came round and put it together, it will clean thick carpet and the you can press a button and it does wood etc floors, it also bends so you can clean under bookcases etc. I charged the battery up and I was astonished by what was in the dust cup when I had finished. My Gtec is going to my cleaners mother, its light enough for her to use and apparently picks up better than her present vaccum.

I spent some time making another scissor holder, went to sew the turning gap up and discovered a slit in the fabric, so in the bucket it went.......no way I could hide it although I did try.

Shephersd pie for supper tonight, I had some bol sauce left so will cook and mash some potato and do some veggies with it, probably cauliflower and carrots and some extra gravy. Fresh fruit for dessert.

A change

in the weather, its dull and overcast this morning, DB tells me it will possibly rain until lunch time........not sure if the gardener will come depends if the rain has stopped.

I have started letting him go up to the greenhouse for about half an hour, yesterday he picked a cucumber, the first we have had off the plant this year, I think the hot weather did not suit it, the cucumbers started to grow and then shrivelled up. He is still picking tomatoes and came in with half a bowl of blackberries, I open freeze them and then bag them to use with apples over the winter. In the depths of my mind I remember going blackberrying with my grandmother, she used to make appple and blackberry jam.

Yesterday I had a letter from our old neighbour in Haddington, she always sent us a card at Christmas, but we did not get one last  Christmas, I was concerned, she was a very nice lady, used to spend the worst weeks of the Scottish winter in New Zealand with her neice. We looked after her flat whilst she was away.  I had been trying to find out if she was still around. I knew she went to the little church in Saltoun so sent an email to the priest and she told me that D was still around but was not going out much due to ill health. Her letter explained that she has a tumour on her spine, non cancerous, which causes her problems so she is not as active as she used to be. I will be replying to her this weekend. She brought me up to date with the people we knew in the flats. It is 10 years since we left, so most of the properties have changed hands.

So I was going to wash this morning, but thanks to the weather have put it off till tomorrow. I do find it esaier doing two smaller loads rather than one big one. Our washer only takes in the amount of water according to the load.

Supper tonight will be fish and chips, at the coffee morning there are often bags of fruit left over from the Sunday lunch, there were 3 bananas in this weeks, so DB has been having them at night. I hate really ripe bananas prefer them just after the green has turned yellow, so I will be having an orange, that will be dessert for today.

 

Shopping

DB elected to come with me shopping, so off to Bingham. Actually spent less than usual, but must admit I did not buy any meat, I have quite a bit in the freezer, have done a menu plan for the next 2 weeks, with what I have in the freezer. All packed away, then a swift cuppa.

Its a bright morning and quite warm, there is a strong breeze though which is keeping it a bit cooler.

I had an order yesterday for 3 scissor cases and also 3 glasses cases, I did the glasses cases yesterday, cut out the scissor cases, they take a bit longer on the sewing machine rather than on the embroidery machine, I could switch the big machine over to sewing, but I have the little sewing only machine on the end of the cutting table, so it easier to do them on that. My friend E had asked for scissor cases for her friend so I had made 3, she will send them off, guess the order may well be for 6 more!!

Spag bol and garlic bread for supper tonight, possibly fresh fruit for dessert.

Coffee morning

A bright sunny morning, its going to be hot, so blinds drawn on the froont until the sun moves round.

The laundry dried yesterday so I now have 3 lots tobe ironed. S is away this week. 

DB continues to make progress, he was allowed half an hour in the green house yesterday, we will be walking round to the coffee morning.

Visit to our old neignbour went well, she is still very upset about her DIL, the funeral is not until 25th of this month, its a long time to wait. Her daughter and son in law are going to pick her up, the home is sending a carer with her as well.

Pork casserole in for supper tonight, there will be enough for 2 meals, so some for the freezer. The outside freezer is full, so have to make room in the kitchen freezer.

So supper tonight, pork casserole, apple crumble for dessert.

Sunny morning

 with a breeze, sheets etc in the washer, they will dry today, as it worked out I could have done them yesterday, it did not rain until tea time.

Expecting a delivery from Sainsbugs this morning, I ordered 10 ready meals for the freezer, they should arrive shortly.

I have now done 14 nights with the fitt bit, my sleep pattern is not good but I am getting a reasnable amount of sleep one way or another, I wish I could up the exercise, not much chance of that even walking affects my back, hip and knee, proper old crock these days. May be I should try the 'jellies' although I doubt in the end it will do a lot, less weight would help.

We are going to see my old neighbour this afternoon, I have turned up some trousers for her.

Not much exciting going on, my blog must be a bit boring, its much the same every day.

Supper tonight is chicken salad, have a small apple crumble will finish that off for dessert.

Grey day

so although I have changed the bed will leave the sheets till tomorrow, its to be a better day. Rain is forecast for today.

I will have to ring S, I have 2 sets of bed linen ready to be ironed, if she is not coming I will have to find an alternative. Its a shame because she irons beatifully. I can manage the pillow cases but not the sheet and duvet cover.

Cleaner due this morning, so need to get my brain in gear.

Its ding dinners tonight, need to use up the couple I have in the freezer, I have a delivery coming tomorrow, enough to last us 4 weeks for the odd supper if we need it.

Late to the table.

usual breakfast in bed, put on a small colored wash and its out on the line. It was raining when we got up but the sun has come out so maybe it will dry.

Veg prepared for supper, I have made an apple and blackberry crumble for dessert. by the time it was in the combi micro my back was aching fit to bust so have had to take some medication and spend the last hour or so just sitting waiting for the pain to ease a bit. I wish they would hurry up with the perching stool.

So supper tonight, roast chicken and all the trimmings and apple and blackberry crumble for dessert.

Cooler

yesterday a breeze so it did not get so hot, although the car was hot enough when I went up to post a birthday card for DB's brother in Law.

Quiet day, gardener came in the afternoon, took the net off the top strawberry bed and dug out all the plants and weeds. The weeds have been horrendous this year, even in the pots, the pot with the herucara in has a massive thistle in it. I picked more tomatoes and also some blackberries which I have frozen along with some courgette. Will bag the courgette up in about an hour and put the bag in the outside freezer.

Thankfully it was cooler to sleep as well and there is a nice breeze this morning.

No plans except to cook supper. ADB, we have it once a fortnight, will have fresh fruit for dessert.

Golly it was hot

yesterday, I had to cool the car down before DB got in it was roasting.

I had a lot of birthday good wishes on facebook yesterday and a couple of phone calls. DD2 rang to make sure her parcels had arrived on time, she sent me flowers, a tin of  M & S chocolate biscuits and a tin of tea, so we can have a posh afternoon  tea. My SIL phoned as well, she does like to chat, it is BIL 89th birthday on Sunday so the family are going up, all 4 of them with assorted children!! When I asked if she had enough beds, I was informed, in her best Hacinth Bucket voice, that 'they did have 6 bedrooms.' I swear the writer of HB knew M very well.......DD1 sent a miniature rose and a box of chocolates, my favourite Thorntons classic mix, we opened them last night and had a couple each, yummy!!

The cream tea was excellent, we did sit inside, although several people were sitting out, DB had a short sleeved shirt on, so no sitting in the sun for him, he has to cover up.

I had to put the fan on in the sitting room when we got back, the thermometer showed 24c!! too hot for me.

We had cheese and biscuits later in the evening.

Its sunny this morning but not to be as hot as yesterday thankfully, its fish and chips tonight.

As of

8.13am this morning I  became officially 80 years old!! I suppose now I quailify as 'elderly' although there are days when I feel 110!! not that I am ever going to get to that age.

Like all of us, there have been ups and downs in my life but one way or another its not been a bad life.

Its going to be a roasting day, the sun is quite hot already, so the curtains are drawn on the front until the sun moves round. I guess I will have to go up and water the greebhouse and collect any ripe tomatoes. I have requested that DB does not grow so many next year.

So we have someone coming this morning to sort out the mold in the bathroom, its only a very small bit, but its spreading so needs to be gone pronto. I also have a Morrison delivery coming this morning. After DB has had his siesta we are going to our favourite cafe for a cream tea, so no supper tonight, just a sandwhich later if we want it.

 

Another warm day

is forecast for both today and tomorrow, so a return to warm weather. I have noticed that there is a coolness in the air which leads me to think we will have a cold autumn and possibly very bad winter. With this in mind I need to check my stock cupboard and freezer ready.

Yesterdays visit to the techie went well. DB went first and then retired to the car to read whilst my plate was checked. There was rain in the wind as we drove home, so the laundry was fetched in, it was all dry.

We have a quiet day today, tomorrow will be a bit busy as I have a grocery delivery coming, the chap is coming to see what needs doing in the bathroom anad of course we are going out for tea, so no supper tomorrow night.

Not sure about tonight supper, need to have a look at the menu on the fridge door. 

Fine and bright

although rain is forcast for later. My laundry dried on the line yesterday and I have coloureds in this morning.

We have a visit to the dental teccy later this morning to get our plates checked, we go every 6 months.

Its a busy week, today a teeth check and Thursday out to tea, my birthday treat. At times I find it difficult to believe I am 80, I know where DB is coming from, I do find it difficult at times to accept that I can no longer do what I did even 10 years ago. I have outlived my mother, she was 76 when she died and not in the best of health, she had smoked since she was a teenager which led to complications as she grew older. They are also coming on Thursday to check the tiny bit of mold in the wet room, the sealant needs scraping off, the mold treated and then resealed. Its only a small piece but want it sorted before it gets any worse.

Mac and cheese for supper tonight, will do a jacket potato with it.

Oh great Joy

I recieved a letter this week from the dwp telling me that as I am 80 this week, my pension is going up.........wait for it......... by 25p a week, oohhhh what shall I spend it on? A cruise perhaps? ok 25p is 25p but what an insult.......it equates to £13 a year!! For me it means diddly squat, to others in a less fortunate position it means they have 25p a week to put towards their sky high fuel or food bill.......When I am shopping I will spend the cash on something for the food bank,,,,,,,might get a couple of tins of beans for 2 weeks 25p!!

Fine morning, washer on with a white load will be followed by a coloured load tomorrow, the forecast is ok for the next couple of days.

I need to flick the dust and put the GTec on the carpets this morning as well, cleaner is here next week. I also need to ring the ironing lady to collect the bed linen.

The garden is beginning to die back, so it will soon be time to empty pots and do an audit, there are a lot of small pots that can go either to the bin or for someone who needs a lot of pots.

Supper tonight will be frittata and salad, we have half the apple crumble to finish off.

Sunday

After the rain all day yesterday, the sun is out, but it is still quite cool. I had to put the heat on yesterday it was so cold, say wrapped in a fleece blanket whilst watching TV.

Cooked the pork yesterday so sliced it this morning, enough for 2 meals and 3 lots of sandwiches or rolls, so not bad for £5.00.

No plans for today, except water the green house and collect any ripe tomatoes. Our neighbour came round last night with an apple crumble and a bag of apples......I think they were fallers, some of them were quite small and bruised, but the others will be ok peeld, sliced and put in the freezer for desserts in the winter.

So supper tonight, roast pork, new potatoes, green beans, carrots and cabbage, then the crumble for dessert.

The two scissor cases I have made, one with a loop and one without.

Rain again

there is a warning for severe wind and rain, thankfully its for the south west, it is raining heavily here.

We were late getting up, I had another bad night. Need sleep!!! so not planning on doing much.

T managed to cut his finger when he was cutting back the plants on the front fence, I stuck it under the tap his hands were filthy, then used dettol on the cut and bandaged it up. Sent him home with more plasters and told him to dress it each day, any sign of it going septic off to the Drs.

I forgot to take the pork out of the freezer yesterday, so will have to cook it tmorrow, will do it in the morning and slice it once its cooled down.

Yesterday I messed around with a pattern and made a scissor holder with a hanger so need to give it to E to send to her friend.

Supper tonight is quice and salad, raspberry cheesecake for dessert.

 

Fine so far

it is forecast to rain later, just when the gardener will be due.

Quite a few people in Aldi yesterday, it seemed busier than usual.

Whilst DB had his siesta I fiddled with a pattern for a scissor holder, I need to do another sligh adjustment and remember to put a hanging loop on and I think it eill be fine.

Laundry in the washer, coloureds, hopefully they will dry on the line.

After rain

rain and more rain, it is sunny and warm this morning. It was nice and cool in Aldi when I went to do the shopping. DB went with  me but stayed in the car.

Coffee morning yesterday was much as usual, not so many of us this week, but a good few. It had stopped raining when we went out, so DB used his walker.

Not much going on, I was asked yesterday about making a scissor case for 3 pairs of scissors,  I have a pattern for some I made years ago, just need to wait for some interlining to come, because it is folded, wadding is a bit too thick.

DB tells me that it will be the end of August before we get better weather.

We went to see our old neighbour yesterday, she was tearfu7l which was onlt to be expected uner the circumstances. The staff where she lives are keeping a close eye on her.

We went on to the meeting which was excellent, a short talk on what was being done and why and then, we were taken to see a vacant flat which had not been altered and then a one bad flat with its own shower room and a bed sit also with a shower. The work was excellently done  to a high standard, and the apartments had new carpets in the bedroom and sitting room also lino in the kitchen and hall. we were provided with an excellent repast of tea and cake. The residents were being moved from their flats to a vacant one whilst the work was being carried out, in some cases they were electeing to stay in their new flat when the work was finished and not move back to their old flat. I can understand this, moving twice in 6 weeks would put anyone off.

We were told that after covid 20 of the apartments wre vacant, since the remedial work has been carried out they now had a waiting list of people wanting to move in

Its coffee morning and lashing down with rain. I will put on my waterproof jacket and pick the last of the rhubarb. We will let it die back now and take out 3 roots. I will pot them up and see if we an sell them. We will go round to the chapel in the car.

We ate at lunchtime yesterday so just a roll for supper. tonight we have sausage, mash and baked beans.

Not a good day

Yesterday I rang my old neighbour to let her know we would be in to see her today. She told me her daughter in law passed away on Sunday, she had ovarian cancer. They had operated and found it had spread, but were hoping to give her Chemo before operating again, obviously it was all too much for her. She was a lovely lady, very quiet and unassuming. We are devastated. Her funeral will not be local so I doubt very much that we would  be able to go, especially with DB as he is, short car journeys are all he has been able to take so far.

His birthday lunch was very nice GGD was with her Grandma, so we were treated to non stip conversation!! She really is a lovely little girl, hair down to her bottom and very bright.

I did manage to get the laundry done but had to dry it in the dryer. Nothing done after we got home from DD2's.

As we have a meeting after our visit to B, we are having jacket potato with cheese and beans at lunch time, will have a roll etc for supper when we get home. I need to shoot up to the post office to get a card for Andy and the cash for the cleaner etc for the next month.
