Friday morning we set off for the village of Burton Lazars, a couple of miles from here. The library van was due at 10 am. Several people arrived whilst we were there. We left with plenty of books to keep us going.
We then went into town to get the bedroom curtain rail, DGS and partner called on the way home after dropping little miss at school. DGS is coming this afternoon to put up the rail in the sitting room, a board and fitting the pole in the bedroom. We bought the front rail before we moved.
In QD I spent £5 of our spending money on 2 cappuccinos. I left DB sitting whilst I went to find a pole, came away with the pole, lithium batteries to switch on/off the fire in the sitting room and a mat for the kitchen door.
Yesterday I found a 3 drawer unit that DB had it in the shed. I will clean it up and it will go under the redundant breakfast bar in the kitchen to keep accessories for the steam cleaner, hand held Dyson and cables etc for the carpet cleaner. I am hoping that DGS will help me to move round the microwave and ninja so I can put a shelf unit next the fridge freezer with jars on it.
I have also found the iron, so will be ironing whilst DB has his siesta.
Fish and chips tonight, might have enough energy to make an apple and blackberry crumble for dessert.
How wonderful to keep finding the bits and pieces that help your new home function better and good to have young, strong folks to help with installation! DS1 and DIL put a long, dresser under their breakfast bar and use those 9 drawers for table cloths, place mats, and all manner of other needed items.
ReplyDeleteThree cheers for the bookmobile, too!
DH will pick up his car at the repair shop today and we'll be off to the library and grocery as there is rain due tomorrow.
Hugs!
